TAKING REST IN MY LORD

DAY AFTER DAY, PATHS I TOOK SEEMED TO TAKE ME MANY DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS.
OFT TIMES I WALKED THE WOODS, BREATHING IN THE RADIANCE OF GOD’S CREATION.
ONE DAY MUCH FULLER THE BEAUTY SEEMED TO BE, I FOUND SELF ASKING “WHY”?
HAVING ASKED I SOON FOUND THE ANSWER TO BE RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY VERY EYES.

SO MANY TIMES, I FOUGHT TO GO MY OWN WAY, DO MY OWN THING IN THIS WORLD.
NOT WANTING TO BEND MY WILL TO THE WILL OF GOD, MY MIND SO OFT IN A WHIRL.
THE HOLY SPIRIT WOOING GENTLY NONE THE LESS “COME DRINK OF THE COOL WATER”.
MY SOUL NO LONGER THIRST FOR THINGS OF THIS WORLD, NOW GOD IS MY FATHER.

AND I DECIDED TO SHARE GOD’S LOVE I FOUND BY GIVING LITERATURE TO OTHERS.
FOR THE GOOD NEWS MUST GO TO EVERY FATHER, MOTHER, SISTER, AND BROTHER.
GIVING THEM AWAY COST FREE, PRAYING HANDS RECEIVING THEM WOULD ONLY READ.
THEIR EYES MIGHT SEE, AND THEIR EARS HEAR WHAT GOD WANTS FOR YOU AND ME.

JESUS CAME TO LIVE IN MY HEART, SHOWED ME THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE!
I KNOW THERE IS COMING A DAY SOON WHEN THERE NEVER MORE SHALL BE NIGHT.
EVIDENCE ALL AROUND AND ABOUT I SAW, THE SUN, MOON AND STARS DO DECLARE.
THE GLORY OF GOD, THE LOVE OF GOD, FOR WITH THIS WORLD HIS SON HE SHARED.

MANY A WAYWARD CHILD HAS COME TO THE FATHER TO ASK FOR HIS FORGIVENESS.
COME TO THE FATHER, YOUR REQUEST WILL BE GRANTED TO THIS I AM HIS WITNESS.
I AM FREED AT LAST, FROM ALL CHAINS AND SHACKLES ONCE HOLDING ME SWAY.
THIS CAN BE YOUR TESTIMONY SHOULD YOU TAKE JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOUR TODAY.

THE BRIDEGROOM COMETH

Look in the book of Revelation and you will see,

what our God has to tell you and me.

It is nearing the end of time as we now know it,

yet the beginning of an eternity for those who are fit.

Not fit in the normal way as perceived by most,

But, rather in a way that we may be ready for our Host.

The banquet is being prepared for those to come join.

Will you be one of the guest or will you stay at home?

What do you think of the invitation that was sent to you,

are you joining the King round the table too?

So many are refusing for what they call more important things.

But I want to be ready when I hear that dinner bell ring!

Oh, I’m not wanting the feast above all the other reasons.

Though I know it will be wonderful with all kinds of seasonings.

I rather would be content just to look upon the face of our groom,

as He smiles wenst looking at the family gathering within the room.

For He is preparing to come and take His family home.

Never had He intended for His children this earth to roam.

But rather to gather round the banquet of blessings,

My, but I can’t wait to tell Him thank You for my many lessons.

Lessons of a lifetime He provided so I might understand how He cares.

So unworthy are we, yet God has even kept count of our every hair.

What can it possibly mean that the Lord of our universe,

has cared to take the time so we could have His word in Bible verses?

So let us patiently prepare for our groom to come and bring us home.

His word teaches in this world His holy spirit keeps us, we are never alone.

My heart with joy beyond this world’s understanding doth ring,

knowing that none will ever hurt God’s children or our Savior again.

DONKEY IN THE WELL HOW DID YOU GET IN THERE
I CAN NOT SEE HOW WITHOUT THERE WERE STAIRS
IT’S SO FAR DOWN THAT I BARELY AM ABLE TO SEE
WHAT WILL YOU DO, SOME ONE HELP HIM PLEASE

NO ONE CAN DO IT, IT; IS NOT POSSIBLE THEY SAY
HE’S TOO FAR DOWN, IN THE BOTTOM HE’LL STAY
NOT THAT WE DON’T CARE, REALLY, WE DO INDEED
IT’S JUST THAT THERE’S NO SOLUTION WE CAN SEE

SO WE BEGAN TO COVER HIM UP, TO FILL THE WELL
EVER SO SAD THAT INTO THE WELL HE HAD FELL
HE WAS SUCH A SWEET DONKEY TO HAVE AROUND
BUT NOW WE MUST BURY HIM DEEP IN THE GROUND

WHAT’S THIS WE SEE, WHY HE’S ON HIGHER GROUND
WITH EACH NEW SHOVEL OF DIRT, WE PITCH DOWN
WHY HE’S SHAKING THE DIRT RIGHT OFF OF HIS BACK
AND I DO BELIEVE HE’S SMILING, NOW THAT’S A FACT

LO AND BEHOLD, HE’S CLIMBING OVER THE WELL
AND, AND ALL I SEE NOW IS THE BACK OF HIS TAIL
BECAUSE HE HAS TROTTED OFF TO THE BARN
AND WITH NARY A SINGLE SIGN OF BODILY HARM

THE MORAL OF THIS TAIL, I WOULD LIKE YOU TO SEE
WHEN ALL HOPE IS GONE, THERE IS HOPE INDEED
NEVER GIVE UP ON GOD BRINGING YOU TO WHERE
HE WANTS YOU TO BE, EVEN WITHOUT ANY STAIRS

REST IN THE LORD (See Psalm 37)

Awakening from sleep, in my mind I think, I need a canvas quickly to seek

And a thought comes into my mine, the scene you create with today’s time

The portray appearing at days end, what will it be, that at days end my eyes see

Knocking on heaven’s door, I ask and seek, this picture, that it may be complete

Then I think to stop and thank the Lord above for another day of life he gives

For allowing my heart within to beat another day, for opening my eyes again

For I know this day will be unlike non other day before, and I see an open door

To make memories and milestones and go to places I hAve never been before

Joys, tears, fears inner twine round about within corners deep inside my mind

Thoughts of yesteryear go about whirling round and round time after time

Picturesque visions of time stand boldly, as if here, so colorful in vision I see

Keeping alive love of others once given so free, long ago once upon a time, to me

And a smile upon my face appears that hardly a soul upon earth could erase

The gift of Jesus, my friend who like no other, sticketh closer than a brother

Given to all, on this earth whom within their heart receive the word, big or small

God’s promises he keeps, every last one my friend, you may count, He shall keep

This new day, where and how it goes, that only my God alone on high is able to know

Where he leads me, where he leaves me, he knows, it is truly He that first loved me so

You nor I that loved him first, this in His word we must believe, though our hearts hurt

Peaceful waters now once again flow where the enemy had thought to throw his darts.

BLESSINGS DURING LIFE’S STORMS

Through the troubles of life, I find it is true….

Never once have I been deserted by you….

Many a day I feel no longer can I go on….

Still shall I praise thee ever in songs….

The Lord is my refuge, my shelter during life’s raging storm ….

The Rock I abide in when I am torn and worn….

Hebrews 13:5 I have only to open and read….

I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee….

Thy word hath spoken it and Lord I believe….

Thank you, God, for mercies daily received……..

THE MASTERS PROMISE

This too will pass,

I hear my saviour’s voice say alas.

Through tears of pain look to the light,

For the dawn that comes after the darkest of nights.

My child I am with thee through the valley below,

Will you trust me wherever you should go?

For I shall never forsake the sheep in my fold,

If it were not true, I would have told you so.

You never thought you would feel this way,

But you shall overcome this too, to be with me one day.

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge

I will heed your word praying not to turn to folly

Thy grace alone can make this heart to change

Should I not obtain, tis but myself I must blame.

Lord, I want confidence, truly indeed I truly do

Lord, but not in and of myself, but rather in you

My skills and knowledge are lacking at my best

Wisdom from you I seek to obtain, nothing less

WHO IS THIS MAN? WHERE IS THE ANSWER?

MATTHEW 7:7-8  7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

J  ust when I thought I had seen all there was to see.

E  verything in black, red, and white; right in front of me.

S  eems to come alive deep within my heart, yes indeed.

U  nmistaken, it was just as clear as clearly could be.

S  o many paths I traveled ore’ land as well as the sea.

C  ome, let our light shine, as we travel life’s journey.

H  oly Spirit may our hearts hear your still soft voice.

R  eaching out to those we meet so that all may see.

I  ndwelling from within living water flowing ever freely.

S  trengthening both mind, body, and spirit daily as we.

T  ell the story to the world of this man from Galilee.

B  elieving God’s word, we humbly ask only it leads to

I   mparting the character of Jesus Christ to those who

B  y reading and receiving truth their hearts be renewed.

L  ead all trusting, obeying each of God’s laws viewed into

E  verlasting life with our Savior when life on earth is through.

VIEWING THE MOUNTAIN FROM ABOVE

Struggles are real in this life here we know,

Climbing mountains to the top from below

The challenge lies at our heart’s door within

Will you take the path of life, or path of sin?

The decision is ours, and it is ours, it is alone.

The easy pathway, or that filled with stones.

Ah, you say, the smooth path seems so right.

So perfect that one has not the need to fight.

To reach to the top of the mountain on high

So perfect one traveling it would seem to fly.

So much one need not as to put up a fight.

But please don’t’ be deceived so my friend.

It can lead your life to an untimely fatal end.

Look upon the path filled with jagged edges.

Look do you see upon also the many ledges?

Now forward go praying as you journey on

Taking Jesus hand, leaning of the Lord alone.

TIMES ARE A’CHANGE’IN

HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS GOING ROUND, ALL ABOUT THE COUNTRY, CITY, AND TOWN?

TIME FOR A ‘PRAYING IF EVER I HAD SEEN IN MY LIFE, FOR THINGS ARE A TERRIBLE SIGHT!

NEVER A ‘FORE HAS THERE BEEN ON EARTH, SO MANY THINGS THAT TROUBLE AND HURT!

THINGS THEY ARE A’CHANG’EN, YES INDEED, BROTHER AND SISTERS, GET ON YOUR KNEES.

PEOPLE GO’ IN ROUND NOT CARING ONE BIT, NOSIREE, GOING ROUND SHOOTEN’ OUT THEIR LIP!

TIME TO PRAY WITHOUT CEASING MY FRIENDS, FOR THE TIME IS EVER MORE A’COMIN TO AN END.

BEING MEAN AND AS CONTRARY AS CAN BE, NOT CARING WHO HEARS WHAT, OR WHAT THEY SEE.

NARY THOUGHT FOR A SINGLE SOUL DO THEY HAVE, THINGS HAPPEN’IN ARE A’GETT’IN PRETTY BAD.

LOOK IN THE GOOD BOOK IF YOU WILL AND READ, THERE GOD’S WARNINGS GIVEN, DO SURELY HEED.

ALL WILL ANSWER IN TIME THOUGH SOME MAY THINK NOT, YOU MIGHT JUST HAVE AN AFTERTHOUGHT.

JESUS PAID THE DEBT FOR ALL ON THE CROSS, NO EXCUSE CAN BE FOUND FOR ANY ONE BEING LOST.

OUR LIFE ON THIS EARTH IS EVER FLEETING, CLING TO THE FATHER WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT AND BEING.
