{"id":384,"date":"2024-03-27T21:24:55","date_gmt":"2024-03-28T01:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/godtalkwithsharon.org\/?p=384"},"modified":"2025-05-21T22:18:57","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T02:18:57","slug":"p-a-t-i-e-n-c-e-m-o-r-e-t-h-a-n-a-n-a-m-e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/godtalkwithsharon.org\/?p=384","title":{"rendered":"Patience: More Than A Name"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>P A T I E N C E :    M O R E\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 T H A N\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 N A M E<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There once was a girl who found it hard to maintain her temper and it seemed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ever so often when one ruffled her \u201cfeathers\u201d she would let out a loud scream.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Until, seemed no longer was her tiny little lips able to let out one more shout<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When upset she stomped her feet jumping up and down in a frenzy all about<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Child, why do you have no patience when upset and your temper you lose<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reflect your given name stead of going bout screaming aloud like a moose<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Your name is Patience, and we do believe that you could if you only would<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Find it your nature, if only you tried, and truly you know that you should<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Patience, I have not, mother and father, for truly I find it too hard to obtain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Just perhaps what I need to have done is a change in my birth given name<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For it seems impatience is the nature of which I was born with as a babe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For to change I can not do on my own, no, it is not possible, just no way<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Patient\u2019s parents explained to their daughter how there was truly a way<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>That her nature could change, if only she desired enough and prayed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Believing the Lord would change her, Patience prayed for that change<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>So now the poem has the correct title of \u2018Patience: more than a name\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We read in Luke 21:18 \u201cBut there shall not an hair of your head perish.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In your patience possess ye your souls.\u201d So, patience is to be cherished<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No matter your name, your soul\u2019s nature I pray reflects patience within<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For without it, one truly is bound to find life much harder my dear friend<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What ere\u2019 your name should be, this nature as well can belong to you<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>If your prayer to the Lord is that he changes your nature, that He will do<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Putting off the old man making your once so impatient soul brand new<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jesus waits patiently at your hearts door, asking to come live within you<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In this world trials and tribulations, we shall have during our lifetime<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Without Christ nature lives within our hearts one day we just may find<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our old man showing itself in such an unflattering fashion that I fear<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Holy Spirit shall not find our hearts suitable any more to come near<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Author, &nbsp;&nbsp;by God\u2019s grace, &nbsp;&nbsp;Sharon Rose Lawless,&nbsp;
